I have to call you out on this.

1) An order of magnitude means a power of 10. This would be true if and only if
you mean by countries, Japan.

2) Families with guns are 4.5 times more likely to be shot than families without
them. Not 3 times.

3) How a person commits suicide is really irrelevant to gun possession. What
difference does it make if they do it with a gun, a knife, a razor, drug
combinations, or other means?

4) Your statistic of "1000 times more likely" is so incredulous, I
won't even comment.

That said. I know lots of people with guns and none of them have been injured by
guns over the past 21 years I've known them. But that isn't statistically
significant number of people. Of course, it could be that once you include more
people, including people who probably should be trusted with sharp objects, that
changes. Maybe we hear about those 4.5 tomes more likely due to
