I made an effort to find the story from the
firstamendmentcoalition.org's home page last night, without
success.

It would seems very strange to me when ISO would say no to OOXML based on the
eearilr application of ODF.The ODF specs that have been accepted by the ISO are
still full of holes and unspecified issues. Some of the ommissions could easily
be seen as a result of trying to be the first to ISO certify the spec. Also with
many billions of legacy office documents around it seems very worth while to
have a format in which those can faithfully be represented.I would take a nice
bet on acceptance of OOXML as an ISO standard[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
