Revising 1812 History?

Ummm, you might want to reread what I wrote and what you wrote. I am an US
American. In the War of 1812, the US did not attack itself. That was the Civil
War. The US was attacked by Great Britain, which was the most powerful nation of
it's day. Followed by France. Although Russia was largely untested in that
period. So, no I didn't get anything wrong there. The Us beat GB twice when it
was a lightweight Nationally speaking. The fact it won the War of 1812 (due
largely to the fact that GB was still fighting other nations), even without
having had a standing army and "only" militias is proof it worked. Not
the best choice, of course.
