And what gave you that impression?
Google is not a party to this, but Samsung and Apple are. I take it you are not
familiar with Groklaw's coverage of the Psystar cases then, where we
"sided" with Apple.
We "side" with no one except FOSS, and that's because we are part of
FOSS. Google just happens to use FOSS in their Android product, and tends to be
more pro-FOSS, so we tend to view them in a more positive light.
Apple on the other hand, not only tries to close up everything (which they have
a perfect right to do), but then they try to monopolize everything with patents.
Since they make a smartphone with rounded corners, now no one else must be
allowed to do so. They want to be the only smartphone manufacturer. Here, they
are attacking an Android phone developer.
In light of the above, are you still surprised at the anti-Apple pro-Google
attitude?

You need to leave for a while, then calm down.
If you come back, try to be more polite, or
I'll simply block you. Read our comments
policy.
You know, it doesn't matter what case I cover,
somebody leaves a comment just like yours,
except the name of the company changes.
In the SCO wars, SCO and their shills and trolls
claimed I was in IBM's pocket (or was IBM). In the
Psystar coverage, it was Apple I was supposedly
in love with. Now it's Google.
It was and it is a false charge. I look at
the case, the facts of the case and the arguments,
and then I analyze based on the law. I never
concern myself with who I like and who I don't
like.
I like Apple products a lot, or I used to. They've
changed a lot since they decided to encourage social
and closing things off and making things happen you
might not want to happen.
And I don't willingly use any Google products, to
tell you the truth, because I'm a lover of privacy.
I'd rather pay than use ad-sponsored stuff.
So you are simply wrong.
Now apologize or leave. Your choice.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
