Imagine if Samsung had, in the middle of the trial, alerted Judge Koh that a possible conflict existed in the empaneling of Velvin Hogan.

Excerpt of imagined transcript from the "but-for world":

MR. QUINN: Your honor, we have found a problem with one of the jurors. May I approach the bench?

THE COURT: Don't make me sanction you, Mr. Quinn. Please.

That's a road you don't have to walk down to see the "Dead End" sign.

I'm less interested in Hogan's past

I'm far more interested in seeing how his behavior plays out with the Appeal's Court(s).

Specifically:

His behavior around "instructing" the other members of the Jury in how to handle prior art and such.
I can see it being one thing of one Jury member interpreting the Jury instructions different then intended.

However, in my non-legal mind, it's something altogether different to provide interpretations that either:

    A) were not covered at all in the Jury instructions
    B) were opposite to what was covered in the Jury instructsions.
