The really sad thing is that Windows 8 presents itself as a failed phone OS look
alike.
A nice image for Microsoft's future.
My predictions: Steve Balmer is outta there this year and his little dog Stephen
Elop will be gone from Nokia too.
Microsoft will survive.
Nokia might not be so lucky.
Microsoft will have no need to buy them even at the reduced price, they already
have the patent deal, which will likely live on, no matter who buys the
carcass.
Windows 9 will look a lot like Windows 7 and be targeted at business. Consumers
will flock to it as well.
Win 8 will be erased from memory, much like the mistakes of Vista, Millenium
Edition and various failed trinkets.

Actually, Nokia not releasing a WP7/WP8 phone with a keypad is not Microsoft's
fault. No idea about the rest, but it's true that when compared with Android,
the way WP7/WP8 is licensed isn't flexible enough for the OEMs to customise.
However, the real issue for Microsoft is that they are trying to sell a platform
that's not all that compelling, mainly due to a lack of compatibility with
portable software and has very few significant advantages over other systems. I
wouldn't be surprised if other new systems coming this year may actually gain

Not according to my nephew! He insists it's going to take over the market from
Android and iPhone.
BTW, he's clueless about other things too. ;-)
