Conspiracy Theorists
Authored by: Anonymous on Friday, December 14 2012 @ 08:19 AM EST

I grew up with one in the family. The moon landings were faked, computers
were mind control devices, I heard it all.

My uncle was actually a wizard. I inherited his occult library. Very useful
research material when you are writing fantasy :)

NASA combats the conspiracy theorists:
Authored by: albert on Friday, December 14 2012 @ 12:42 PM EST
I'd like to personally thank all the idiots out there who keep supplying NASA
with strawmen. 'Conspiracy theorist' is a loaded term, like 'frankenfoods',
UFO, 'tree hugger', etc. It is used today as a pejorative term applied to anyone
who theorizes about anything that a certain group may find distasteful. It's a
convenient bag to put someone in, along with the loonies. Some folks actually
_believe_ the moon landing was faked. This is sad. The fake moon landing
theory was roundly debunked by some of the greatest 'conspiracy theorists', like
Richard Hoagland.

It doesn't help that the articles author, Sebastian Anthony, uses phrases like
"tinfoil-hat-wearing fruitcakes". Quote from his bio:
"..bias-free, objective opinionation..". 'Opinionation' isn't even a
word!

In fact, we are all conspiracy theorists. The police who propose theories on
the actions of criminals, the reporter who proposes theories on the actions of
people who might be up to no good, the woman who theorizes about her man
cheating. All could involve conspiracies. The difference is we don't go around
publicizing this stuff, unless, or until, they are found to be true.
