It's been a long time

Congratulations to the Samba team!

I have been watching the project for years and I don't think the legal fuss is
what caused it to be slow. It is 5 years since the legal victory, and even with
the documentation it has taken them this long to release the product.

It seems to me that the team members have done great work, but there are only a
small number of them and most (all?) only do it on a part-time or spare-time
basis.

What confuses me is why the industry* didn't give them more money to work full
time with more people to release this 2 years ago.

industry, consumer electronics makers etc

...Microsoft reality. The only spec for Microsoft interoperability is what
works with Microsoft. Code to their bugs.
