Oh, yes, I still have a wife (the same one, in fact, with which I began married
life over 30 years ago). My wife and I both love to read while eating. (In fact,
during the episode above, she had her own paperback book at the table.)

Funny story: one day while we were out at a restaurant for lunch, we both had
our noses buried in our own respective paperbacks, waiting to place our order.
The waitress came to the table, saw us both reading, and said "gee, I hope
this is not a date; if this is a date, the romance is over!" (She was
wrong, by the way.)
