Holding it the wrong way?

Yup. That's the problem with 9 out of 10 strangers in my home town
desperately clutching a paper map at some intersection. Knowing
which way is up is more important than how to hold it, and I submit
that is a problem for more people than are willing to admit, paper
maps or mobile device.

For Google maps in China I have no link. I suggest you go to the
rural back country in China, like I did, and have the local people
laugh at your handheld device whatever brand as they point out
the errors. China is twice as big as Australia and has a hundred
times as many populated places. Maybe when Google and the
Chinese government start talking friendly things will improve.
