Apple and MAD, and I sure am.
Authored by: Steve Martin on Saturday, December 08 2012 @ 11:37 AM EST
My wife and I went out for dinner last night. I
happened to have my tablet with me. Two
different waitresses asked me "Ooh, is that the
new iPad Mini?" I proudly told them "nope, it's
the Nexus 7 running Android!" Felt good.

Totally agree with your attitude towards Apple.

Walked in a Best Buy, say all of the Apple loot on a table, sneered almost
involuntarily at it as I walked by.

I have a family member who has been a mac person before macs were cool (going
back to the Apple II)-- they were involved in his job ---, so he gets a pass.

However, I refuse to recommend their hardware or software to anyone.

I think your wish could come true. The trolls are targeting newspapers next.

Apple and MAD, and I sure am.

The problem is people tend to be very short term thinkers. Assuming for a
minute they are not Apple shareholders and have no vested interests in the
company per-se, they may not care about Apple's behaviour as long as their
iPad, iPhone and other i-products work for them.

Longer term I suspect this enamour with Apple will fade as their products
continue to be over-priced but offer less and less by way of enhancements, and
users everywhere outside the US have a multitude of cool, innovative products
to choose from.
