And am quite happy.
Okay, I went via xfce because I had problems with upgrading my system,
especially this d**n strigi/nepomuk rubbish!!! How can the developers say
"it isn't a bug, we know there's a problem, please help us debug it"
when the users are screaming "my system now takes half an hour to
boot!!!".
That really was idiocy by the developers - and that was one of the reasons I
went to xfce.
Cheers,

I have also used KDE for several years (never cared for Gnome) and found, in
many ways, KDE4 was a big step back from KDE3. While I still use KDE4, in KDE3
mode, I still don't care for it as much as KDE3. Also, performance is much
worse, on this computer, than KDE3. I held out on KDE3/openSUSE 11.3 for as
long as possible, before I updated to KDE4/12.1 and now 12.2.

I actually liked KDE4 from the get-go. Although it is slowly giving way to E17,
I have been happy with it for my use, which includes running a game server as
well as the other stuff (e-mail, internet, media, and light programming).
Yes, I know that most people ... sane people... either stayed with KDE3 or went
to other desktops, but I like KDE4 (except for Dolphin).
