middle finger versus thumb control
Authored by: mcinsand on Wednesday, December 05 2012 @ 10:54 AM EST
One of the reasons I was looking at the new blue-balled mouse is that I had some
soreness in my hand and wrist from the red one. The blue is such that the thumb
moves the ball, while the older one has the ball centered along the mouse axis.
I can't remember my logic path just now, but I had thought that using the same
mouse at work and home, along with more mouse use from getting back into gaming,
might be causing some pain. Apparently, though, I was right. My employer has
changed the approved hardware list, and I am now back to a more traditional
Logitech MX mouse. With the change, the pain is gone.

Also, on a related note, after I bought the red-balled mouse, my oldest son
started whining about how my computer has the cool software, cool desktop,
cooler keyboard, and cooler mouse. I told him that the mouse and keyboard are
from gifts. As for the software and desktop, he can have them anytime he wants
to ditch Windows.

Regards.
