SJVN I think this may have been mentioned before, anyway it
has now reached the ZDnet email circulation lists, so more people will get to
know. Read the article to see why there are still problems, with some
manufacturers such as Lenovo either deliberately or through igborance or
carelessness making it still impossible to boot Linux. I predict that the EU
is going to become involved at some stage, and not by banning workarounds....
M$ is not exactly their favourite company right now. [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

In view of the repeated comments requesting (?) rebukes for certain judicial
actions/decisions people might find this interesting. [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Local telecoms in Denmark is marketing the Nokia Lumina 920 through full-page
ads in the tabloids, with the great camera the main selling point. The fact that
it runs Microsoft Windows (mobile) is sort-of-but-not-really mentioned although
prominently hinted at graphically. Funny thing, though. Nowhere does it mention
the Windows _version_. How times have changed...[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

A Horrible Mac Book Pro Experience
Not that I need any prompting,
having had my own glass-walls experience several times with them, including an
obvious scratch on a hard drive platter.

'Stevie Wonder is calling off a concert for a group that raises money for the
Israeli military. Wonder had been scheduled to perform Dec. 6 for Friends of the
Israel Defense Forces, which raises money for Israeli soldiers and their
families. Wonder said the United Nations recommended canceling his performance
because he is an official “Messenger of Peace” for the organization.'
No, Stevie Wonder is not blind.

PJ once referred to a red dress.
Here is a video from 2010
where some may have been trying to find, a red
dress.

Like many of my fellow geeks, Im an occasional
eBay seller.
Whenever the time comes for gadget upgrades or
some sort of tech “spring
cleaning”, I turn to eBay to
offload my unwanted goods. Ive been doing this for
quite a
few years and I know my eBay/Paypal safety basics:
- Only
sell to people with significant positive
feedback
- Only ship to CONFIRMED
Paypal addresses
- Require Signature Confirmation for items over
$250
And then you, the SELLER, will be PROTECTED from
buyer’s
fraudulent claims by Paypal’s confidence-assuring Seller
Protection…..OR SO I THOUGHT :(
