A field report of an Apple Customer Experience

TBF it's   not all   Apple's   fault
</fanboi>

There were complaints about this chip six months back
and Intel rolled out a Windows firmware fix, but Apple
instead of thinking different and finding their own medicine,
waited for something that Intel didn't deliver.

fair to single Apple out on this one?

As much as I enjoy bashing Apple, this reads like something that could have
happened with most companies. The company has criteria and tools for
acceptability, and they stick with those benchmarks to delineate which items are
defective. And, as often happens, not all customers are happy with where those
lines fall.

screens made by Samsung apparently fine

If a 56-page discussion thread on the Apple Support forums is any indication, there appears to be a problem with some MacBook Pros with Retina displays. The Retina displays with the issues show image retention and burn-in; others do not.

TUAW reader Joe K. sent us a note about the issue, which appears to be happening to MBPs with displays manufactured by LG; other displays made by Samsung don't have the problem with image retention and burn-in, are brighter, and seem to display colors with more accuracy.

Oh, the irony. It always makes sense to be suing your more reliable hardware suppliers. Not.

You are being MICROattacked, from various angles, in a SOFT manner.

Maybe Apple has gotten too big

Or maybe he got a Genius who wasn't.

I've always gotten great service in the Apple store. Used to think that the
company was pretty good. Since they've sued Samsung I've changed my
mind though...

Now you know

Why some countries like the UK have such strict consumer protection laws.
Remember when Apple tried to charge different prices for the same music in
various EU states. Backed down in a hurry when they saw what happened to
Microsoft.
