I am a mobile phoney and don't own one. However, it seems to me that an Android Lumia could be a really good seller.

Just about everyĆ³ne except Nokia feels that way :-(

It's a difficult compromise to make. Go with glass and you resist scratches but
are quite likely to crack if dropped. Go with plastic and you survive drops
better, but scratch more easily. Gorilla glass is less likely to crack than
conventional glass, but it isn't indestructible. A self-healing film
(InvisibleShield or similar) over plastic might be a reasonable alternative, but
would probably be rejected by designers on visual and tactile grounds.

Recent iPhones probably suffer cracks disproportionately because they expose the
edge of the glass, making it the point of impact unless you have a case of some
sort. This seems to have been an aesthetic choice.
