I still prefer Firefox, because it isn't created
by an advertising company. Google seems like a nice
company, and Chrome is a fine browser, but it looks
over my shoulder and phones home to its creators
all the time. I don't like that. I give Google
plenty of information about me already, and I have
no illusions that I can keep my online behavior
pattern hidden from them, but I guess I don't want
to make it too easy for them.

I'm not a keyboarder and having the '+' '-' buttons in Firefox makes me miss
them when I use Chrome.
Lame, but true.
Hopefully I don't turn into
one of those people who complains about bloat due to feature creep :p [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

I've briefly tried Chrome, but I guess I am just a die hard FF fan. I'm on the
latest version, and it works great for me. Been using it since 1.0.
I use the noscript and adblockplus extensions, because I just hate ads (and
security problems :P). Now I can't stand to use a browser without ad blocking.
Also has the great bibliography addon called Zotero, which has Word/OpenOffice
Integration when you go to write a Works Cited page (haven't used it in a long
time, but it was great when I used it).
Greasemonkey is also a nice toy, I have a profanity filtering script built in
(funny story involving the wikipedia founder's talk page and an accidental
edit).
To each his own.

Quite frankly, you can pry Firefox from my cold dead fingers (well, Waterfox
now, but meh). What Webkit is doing to the web now is just as bad as old IE,
and I'd rather not be involved in perpetuating it.
However, if you're REALLY dead set on switching, try finding SRWare Iron, which
is a Chrome-compatible Chromium build that lacks Google's massively integrated
services.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
