Who conceded that source code is not math?

I thought source code was a series of algorithms written in a mathematically
valid way, such that the algorithms can be transformed to equivalent algorithms
that can be executed by the processor using the universal algorithm designed
into its circuitry. The algorithms are to do with the manipulation of symbols
(as understood by programmers) and signs (in the actual computer machine).

I get point 2. Source code is not a formula and neither is the transformed
machine code. Nor is source code something that is described or modelled by
math. Both assertions turn up like bad pennies.

I don't get the concession.
