Reh Hat do not dance to M$ tune. I think you may be confusing them with SUSE. I
don't think Ubuntu does either, to any great extent, although the use of Gnome,
with lots of Mono dependencies, is rather worrying, and in my opinion they would
be better to use KDE as the standard desktop, with LXDE as an option. The
problem lies mainly with Gnome.

I wouldn't call them the most important players though.

That would be LFS.

And as long as LFS exists, all the others are expendable.
