All it needs is the runtime libraries.

As a matter of fact, it should be able to a full GNU environment, as long as the
runtime libraries and applications are included.

Remember too that Tizen running on Samsung will be able to run Android apps.

Run ning Android Apps On Tizen

Samsung has poured a lot of money in getting Tizan ready for launch during the first quarter of next year.

Wikipedia: Tizan

As this is also intended to run their Smart TV's then maybe they can overtake Apple in providing people with what the want in the Home Media Center market. That can then be extended to one's in-car entertainment.

Samsung has shown in the past how it can enter new markets and then take the out the wind of sails of its competitors. Consider how it started making just screens for Sony, then preceded to eat into Sony's TV and computer screen market.

If Tizan becomes well regarded in the market, it may leave Apple as just another computer manufacture.
