I always like to see the astroturfers show up in the forums. It's a sure sign
that some high muck-te-muck's sacred ox is being gored, and the word has been
passed down to the spinsters.
Also that the spinsters just really aren't very _bright_.
Bearing in mind that these Motorola (not Google, BTW) patents are accepted by
the people who wrote the standards as essential. They aren't some brainless
twaddle like "rectangle with rounded corners" or "a device for
running a computer program on a smartphone which contains a computer", the
sort of non-essential, hyper-trivial abuse that Microsoft and Apple and Oracle
have been wielding.
One of the things I admire most about Google is ... the enemies they have. Who
else can unite Ballmerator and My-yacht-is-bigger-than-your-yacht Larry
(purveyors of the world's most evil software) with the IP robber barons like the
MAFIAAs, AND all the most totalitarian tyrannies of the world in one giant
conspiracy?
Admirable. Almost transcendentally admirable.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
