Problem is, for some fields of endeavour, Linux software is worse than
useless. (Whilst I can write software that satisfies the professional needs of

those in some of the specific fields of endeavour, distributing requires paying

patent royalties. In one of those fields e two patent holders consider 10% of
MSRP to be "reasonable" royalty payment., that means 20% MSRP for
royalties, before covering any other costs.. In a different field, the major
copyright owner has sworn that they will never allow their content to be used
by software than uses a free licence, open source licence, creative Commons
licence, is shareware, freeware, or anything licenced or distributed in a
similar
manner. )
