Personally, I don't care when MS releases it's latest upgrade cycle, as I buy
blank machines when I need hardware.

Everybody has different needs.

That's one of the main reasons Windows rules the desktops, and that'll probably
be one of the main reasons Windows won't get into the portables market.

...for my next PC build(s). Does that count?

I'm in Linux most of the time at home. I only fire up my Windows partition to
play games. Now that Valve is prepping Steam for Linux, soon I may not even
need Windows for that! Still, I'm glad I decided to cover my bets.

bought multiple laptops you didn't need yet?

That's exactly why I bought this laptop when I did; except that in my case it
was to get XP to avoid Vista...
