I've also seen it written that alternative suppliers are
reluctant to tool up factories and processes to be able to
supply Apple, as Apple doesn't want to commit to long term
contracts from suppliers (to avoid lock-in), and the
suppliers don't want the risk of building out then losing a
massive part of their business if Apple swaps supplier.

Seems apple may have some uncomfortable choices ahead.

Samsung hits Apple with 20% price hike: report
Authored by: Anonymous on Monday, November 12 2012 @ 01:15 PM EST
There was a posting under the last story about semiaccurate.com
predicting this would happen. You can also see at ifixit.com
tear downs of currently shipping devices, where Apple is sourcing
nand flash and displays from other suppliers. But ifixit didn't
say where the processors came from. TSMC, the most frequently
suggested alternate to Samsung, have been going thru a rough patch lately...

Do we have a native Korean reader please?
The referenced stories appear to come from

and Google translate just isn't in the game.
What is the usual reliability of Chosun Ilbo?

20% price hike: This might be FUD
Authored by: squib on Monday, November 12 2012 @ 02:18 PM EST
This might be FUD for the purposes of short selling. There appears nothing here -which is suppose to be the source. Big price fluctuation = big Future trading profits. Only this time the boot may be on the other foot.
