No biggie, but answers that miss the
point, like yours, apparently need the
added explicit clarification.

I guess the difference is that "atypical" can correctly be used in an
adjective context, but "not typical", not so much?

I think there is a subtle difference actually, but PJ's headline seems entirely

appropriate to me. Entirely atypical would mean the event is a complete one
off, whereas "entirely not typical", as well as sounding horibble,
would to me
suggest that Apple's typical behavious is mature and honest and such slips
are rare, but maybe not unique. However you should note I am a pretensious
poet who loves to look for subtle linguistic nuances where none exist. :)
