Apple Refuses to Answer Samsung's Q Re When It Learned About the Foreman's Seagate Litigation ~pj

clarification:

1) If X accuses Mr. Hogan of misconduct, then what X knew is relevant
2) X does not accuse Mr. Hogan of misconduct
3) what X knew is irrelevant

Faulty logic
Authored by: Anonymous on Wednesday, November 07 2012 @ 12:34 AM EST
1) If A is true, then B is true.
2) A is false.
3) Therefore, B is false.

B=False # (2)
if (A): B=True # (1)
print B # (3)

NameError: name 'B' is not defined

You really need to emphasize more that the argument Apple
presents is deliberately misleading. Stating the valid
argument would have helped immensely. As it stands, at
least some of the other responses look like they are
accepting Apples proposition.

The correct form is:

Given:
- If A is true, B must be true.
Contra-positive:
- If B is not true, A must be not true.
Conclusion:
- If A is not true, B can be either true or not true.

Things get more complicated, but not by much, if the
subject(s) of A and B do not exist. But that is another
mater.
