Electronic voting isn't a problem
Authored by: AJWM on Saturday, November 10 2012 @ 07:47 PM EST
Canada's elections are also much simpler than US elections, because you're not
voting on everything from President to Dogcatcher at the same time.

Canadian Federal elections are rarely (ever?) simultaneous with provincial
elections, so the ballots are simpler. Also, there are fewer elected offices in
Canadian provinces (I seem to recall many Canadian municipalities holding local
elections on the same day, but not necessarily on the same day as a provincial
election, nor a federal election.) Not all US states elect all of these, but
the possibilities include State senate and house, governor, various judges,
sherrifs, county coroner, many and sundry ballot initiatives, school board, city
council, and even some regents of state universities. All at the same time.

Try doing all those in a single election day in Canada and see how it goes.

(Not that I'm saying it's a good thing that the US does it this way, but let's
make equivalent comparisons.)
