Using Samba file sharing from any device Android or Linux and the filesystem you
are sharing doesn't matter , the host is what reads it!

It just means you do not plug it in to a Windows device directly but via
ethernet and have the phone/tablet act as a file server. (just what i do with
my 3 Android phones)

Also there are EXT drivers and software able to be installed in Windows to allow
non MS file formatted devices to be read.
