Apple Intentionally Tries to Hide Samsung Statement on U.K. Homepage Using JavaScript
Authored by: Anonymous on Sunday, November 04 2012 @ 01:12 AM EST

The courts insisted that Apple issue a revised statement on their U.K. website within 48 hours, and they’ve certainly complied. That’s not all they’ve done, though. Apple’s also included a bit of JavaScript that intentionally tries to hide it.

Cached version of apple homepage

In an update to the article about Apple vs Samsung and the court ordering them
to put a notice of a new notice on their website PJ asked for a copy of apples
website prior to these updates. I have one from when they had the first notice
about the Samsung/Apple case but I'm not sure how to post it. I can say that it
still had the resizing code in it though. That said it is possible this is where
they decided to introduce that code as it does force the Samsung/Apple Judgement
link (to their UK court is out of line advertisment) off the page.

'It bugs me that I might not have been creative enough to fail their test'
Authored by: Anonymous on Sunday, November 04 2012 @ 06:34 PM EST
When I came to the US, I heard about Mensa — the high IQ society. My IQ had never been tested, so I was curious. I was told that there was a special IQ test for non-English speakers and that my fresh immigrant status and lack of English knowledge was not a problem.

I signed up.

Next bubble: energy
Authored by: Anonymous on Sunday, November 04 2012 @ 10:42 PM EST
A recent report from the organisation Carbon Tracker Initiative called'
Unburnable Carbon' points out that if we are to follow the UN-mandated cap on
CO2 emissions, then 80% of the current fossil fuel reserves can't be utilised.
The kicker is that the energy sector - first and foremost Big Oil - is valued
according to a matrix of known reserves, cost of extraction and mankind's future
needs. With 80% of this expected business endangering global climate, energy
stocks could crash.

There's a bit about it here link but there was a link about the Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee looking at it I saw this morning.

Hopefully a contempt fine or two will soon close the gap.
