Apple uses scripts to resize iPad banner and push Samsung verdict out of view.

This isn't new. They had this before to hide all the
footers. However, I don't know if they had it before the
first attempt where they just had the link.

Check out their other European sites and see. My screen is
too small to check so the script doesn't kick in.

However, I would guess that anyone who would be given this
ruling would place the text at the bottom of the homepage
unless otherwise specified and therefore it would require
scrolling.

Last used as such in the 1950s. But, it's still there.

What I see, visiting it from Canada is

On 25 October 2012, Apple Inc. published a statement on its UK website in relation to Samsung's Galaxy tablet computers. That statement was inaccurate and did not comply with the order of the Court of Appeal of England and Wales. The correct statement is at Samsung/Apple UK judgement.

There was a link in the last four words, so the apology wasn't on the home page.
