I have no idea why I couldn't see any difference before. It is very
obvious.
There is certainly a difference, of about 25%, so Samsung could
definitely argue this. Although I think Apple will blame an "incompetent" web
engineer.
However I would not expect a retina display to make any
difference. The problem affects px and pt to the same extent; the difference
between them is always the difference between 1/72 inch and 96dpi, whatever
screen they are displayed on. If a higher resolution screen is used then they
will both be smaller to the same extent. Theoretically, pt could be scaled
differently to keep its size correct, but I do not believe it ever is; the
browser always assumes that the screen is 96dpi.
That is why I need my
reading glasses to read a page on my laptop, but not to read the same page on my
desktop.
