his sharp focus and vision

Unfortunately Steve Jobs instigated the current "focus", and the Company is merely fulfilling that directive. I can't help but wonder how much his medical situation changed his outlook on life and caused him to go astray of his life long goals up to that point.

He made excellent products that sold themselves, and I admired that, but right now he couldn't sell me the air to breathe. His dying wish was for some reason to get on my Black List along with Sony, Microsoft and Oracle. He succeeded at that too.

The man could do most anything he wanted in life, but why did he ever decide to personally destroy all that he had worked so hard to build up? Its a complete mystery to me.

Meet the New Apple same as the Old Microsoft
Authored by: albert on Sunday, October 28 2012 @ 12:25 PM EDT
I think perhaps Jobs felt there was a separation between the business side and
the tech side. There isn't. Did Jobs have the magic touch? Yes. Could he pass
it on to his successors? No. The road to success is littered with the corpses of
great tech that just couldn't be marketed. Image is just as important to
marketing as product, perhaps more so. Apple spent years creating their own
consumer culture, their 'brand'. I wonder if they even realized what was
happening. Microsoftian tactics do not a successful business make. That's why:

a. I hope Ballmer stays forever, and
2. "Lovely, never, ever change" - Apple
