This is correct. Just had a nice little look at the source
code apple.co.uk.
The ipad mini image is hero.png, the class name is 'hero-
image'. If you 'view source' on the homepage, at the top
(Chrome shows it as line 26 for me), there is a script
called hero_resize.js
(http://images.apple.com/v/home/n/scripts/hero_resize.js)
This script dynamically resizes the image via a stylesheet
reference ('this.hero().style.height=this.height()+"px"').
It does this by listening to the Window resize event.
It looks like the script detects the height of the browser,
subtracts 310px from this value, and resizes hero.png to the
resultant value (window height - 310px).
Given that everything else on the page appears to be laid
out in a very pixel perfect manner, it is hard for me to
fathom a reason to have the footer fall off the bottom of
the window, especially since the style sheet reference for
the hero-image includes 'width:auto' which will
automatically determine the width based on the height (and
the respective heright vs width ratio of the image).[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
