The Nexus 7 (16 GB model for $199/32 GB model for $249 come
monday, if the rumor mill is to be believed - and I paid for
my 8 GB model that really needs those extra 8 GBs. Asus made
BTW, and well made in my experience, but some had QC issues
if the xda forums are to be believed. Of course, one always
hears the complainers) and the Nexus 10 (to be announced
next monday, made by samsung, sporting a record breaking
resolution of 2560x600@299ppi) are definitively the batch
(or better) than either iPad model. The nexus 4 (made by LG,
said to be based on that beast of a phone, the LG Optimus G,
to be anounced next monday too) will also have dreamlike
specs.
There are alternatives - and Nexus phones and tablets are
the most free Android devices, as they can be unlocked,
rooted and flashed without resorting to exploits, and in
most cases, without voiding the warranty. Oh, and their full
source code, save for some binary blobs, is released under
free licenses)[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
