Are 'real' stores that important in selling smartphones?
Authored by: Anonymous on Monday, October 29 2012 @ 05:23 PM EDT
I don't know about all of you, but personally, everyone I know would not just go
to a store and ask what the best smart phone is. They would research it before
hand (on the internet), and go in to a store knowing exactly what phone they
want. This generally leads to frustration as stores don't have it and stock when
there website claims they do and such. Really I think the online store model
might work better. Your already researching it their so it isn't going out of
you way, unlike having to drive to the store to buy it, and since they are only
mainting a website that website will be up to date and accurate eliminating much
of the frustration where the website says they have a certain phone and then it
turns out they don't.

The Nexus 7 was available in the stores in Australia not long after they were
released. Got mine in a local store.
