I read the intelligence report and while it was true in many respects, it was
misleading. The vast majority of the report was truing to tie Huwei and zte to
the Chinese state. It should be taken as a given that any company can be doing a
states bidding and the configuration and device specification be such such that
even a compromised machine has little opportunity do damage. How much sensitive
data is controlled by others? the report glosses over the behavior that creates
these attack vectors. The US would have some of the most capable security people
in the world they could have put together a much better report it they wanted
to.

Even a windows box can be relatively secure if it has no connectivity and it is
in a guarded facility.
