That story was subsequently denied by Samsung.
My guess is that Samsung was actually denying some minor detail in the story,
and that their relationship as a supplier is being scaled back. The contracts
in place limit how quickly this can be done.
The interesting part is which party is scaling back, and on which screen types.
Apple is having problems with screen suppliers. Sharp is struggling with
financial problems and ramping production up. Other suppliers are hesitating to
invest in new production lines when Apple has a reputation for aggressively
pushing prices down as soon as it has multiple suppliers.
