I am using the Atrix dock for mine, as recommended by someone here, very
successfully. It is a lovely thing, like an extra-thin netbook, with decent
keyboard and screen, and even a battery. Unfortunately, they were available
cheaply, but not any more. Supply and demand. There was no significant demand,
because most people don't dock their phones, but now lots of people have
Pis. The big problem is getting the connecting cables, because the dock has
male micro-USB and Micro-HDMI to engage with the normal female connectors on the
Atrix, but no standard cable configuration has females. You can get them from
various sources, some bits from China, others from Amazon in my case, but it is
all vert tedious. I am thinking that a neater way would be to make a small PCB
to mount the Pi directly to the dock. The latest Pis have holes for two mounting
screws so they could fix to the PCB, but at least one of the connections,
probably the USB, would need a short flying lead. I may investigate over the
weekend to see what is possible. At least PCB mount micro connectors of the
correct gender are available, which is half the battle. [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
