That's different. Ethernet has evolved over the years in a manner that was
compatible with previous versions. In fact, it's so compatible that we're still
stuck with 1500 byte MTU. On the other hand video technology now is quite
different from not all that many years ago. Years ago, a VCR was the thing to
have, now it's a DVR. Both are programmable video recording device, but the
similarity ends there. To equate them would be the same as having to refer to a
car as a horse & buggy in court. They serve the same function, don't they?
