It's not over yet

As a result, we have yet to see if Apple had any substance in that alleged 50 Cal shot.

Even this instance isn't over till the USPTO issues it's final rejection.

Apple's Rubber Band Patent Tentatively Rejected on Reexamination ~pj

By "tradedress" you mean "rectangular with rounded corners",
right?

That didn't work so well for Apple anywhere, except this kangaroo court. In
fact, in England it worked out so bad for Apple, that they have to
"publicly grovel" (as the judge put it), and advertise on their
webpage and in magazines that Samsung "didn't copy Apple".

Look for it to be overturned on appeal.

Apple will have less than a BB to shoot with, when this done.

Prior Art in the Ships Graphical Database System circa '79/'80s
Authored by: Anonymous on Thursday, October 25 2012 @ 08:48 AM EDT
There is a Siggraph video depicting a ships database using the original Ingres
on BSD UNIX, which used a touch screen amongst other visual manipulation tools.
I think it was for the US Coast Guard or some other government agency and
tracked types of ships, their cargo and crews around the world in a visual
format. Activities like pinch to zoom were shown and described. I wonder if an
ACM member can find and have a look at the video as it may well show a lot of
prior art for Apple's supposed patents.
