Everybody looks thrilled...

but if you looked closer you see that it isn't even plugged in.

MS has an almost insurmountable image problem
Authored by: Anonymous on Monday, October 22 2012 @ 05:51 PM EDT
(same as GP)

Yes, the XBox has some young users, no doubt. My statement
however drew more from discussions with my teenage daughter,
who told me that "only a total dork" would buy a Windows
phone.

I don't have an XBox - other than the Microsoft name, is it
marketed as being part of the Windows "ecosystem"? Or to
put it another way, is Windows 8 going to be rolled out on
the XBox to go along with the phones, tablets, and PCs?

That XBox gamer crowd...

It doesn't have to be either-or. They can
be contracted shills *and* XBox players.
It would explain why so few of them put any
real effort and skill into their posts.
They are all gamers, aged 12 to 17, barely
literate and only interested in playing the
free games they get for doing their online
chores for Big Brother. (Nah. Kidding.)

I've met quite a few MS fans
Authored by: marcosdumay on Tuesday, October 23 2012 @ 08:49 AM EDT
MS always had a lot* of fans, that like it for what it is, no money involved. I
can't really understand them (I've tried, hard), but they exist.

Of course, there are also paid shills and XBox fans. I find the paid shills to
be the most vocal, but that may be a biased view, because they disturb me more
than the others.

* In absolute terms, not relative. But the absolute number is what you face on
the web.
