I popped into PCWorld this weekend and saw exactly the same. More than half of
the laptop bays were empty with not much to see. I asked a salesdroid and he
said 'It's all Windows 8 now ... we're gearing up for that next week' .... sigh
....

I had the same experience buying a camera from PCWorld. I researched on-line and
then went and asked to see one particular model. The salesman I first talked to
directed me to another with the right knowledge who got the camera out for me to
handle. Then I asked about other models. The salesman was totally uninterested
in talking about any alternatives, totally disengaged. He didn't even go so far
as to say "This is the best model unless you want to pay twice as
much." He knew he had his sale, and it seemed he couldn't be bothered to do
anything else.
Maybe there's something wrong with their commission system, but I don't think it
is limited to Penguinistas and Microsoft.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
