romney family and voting machines
Authored by: YurtGuppy on Monday, October 22 2012 @ 09:39 AM EDT

I've been away for a bit, so maybe this has already been hashed out...

It shouldn't matter who owns the voting machines. If the owners of the voting
machines company have any way of influencing the outcome then those machines are
broken and should not be used.

Software from voting machines should be all open source. Voting procedures
should be transparent.

If not, it will only be a matter of time until the person with the inside dope
is on the other side of an election from where you are.

Kindle user claims Amazon deleted whole library
Authored by: Anonymous on Monday, October 22 2012 @ 02:24 PM EDT
Note the update: Amazon did not wipe the Kindle, it broke.
Somewhere there must be a fine print about backups,
if they are physically possible, or if the customer ponies
up more coin to Amazon before the event.

For all the vitriol some users here pour on pdf, at least
they are portable, and thus my format of choice.

Microsoft's 32GB Surface tablet sells out in the UK
Authored by: rsi on Monday, October 22 2012 @ 03:50 PM EDT
Are all these devices in the hands of consumers, or simply sold to stores and
other distributors? What percentage are actually owned by Consumers, and how
many totally were released for sale.

Can we actually believe anything we are told by Mickey$oft??? ;^)
