You need not worry about Hogan facing criminal perjury charges unless he is
brought back in to testify under oath and says something stupid then. Despite
how often people yell that someone committed perjury, trials and convictions are
very rare. For a conviction, it's necessary under US law to prove intent beyond
a reasonable doubt, among other things. That makes convictions very difficult,
so it's rare that a prosecutor would even try.
Often there often are two or more different conversations going on
simultaneously, even in the same thread. Some people see themselves as arguing
for FOSS in in partisan arguments, while others are trying to understand things
fully, which requires looking at both sides of an issue to do it well. Some
people are angry at what happened and want to take out their anger by bashing
Hogan for not doing what he should have done. Some people want to look past him
and want to talk about what options are available to Apple and Sumsung, given
that Hogan and other people already did what they did. That's going to make
communication difficult, but I don't have a solution.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
