Kubuntu
Authored by: Ian Al on Monday, October 22 2012 @ 11:46 AM EDT
I tried a distribution update, but it seemed to have installation problems and
so I burnt the iso.

I have installed most of the progs I use without problems. I still cannot get
Amarok to play a CD and use Clementine, instead.

More importantly, the printer installation wizard is much easier to use. I
installed a network connected HP laser printer by name and an HP deskjet by IP
address. The only problem is that it is not possible to print - not even a test
page or a self test! The print queue system tray icon never appears. Printing
used to be so easy, but each new version seems to bring more problems.

I can always go to my Ubuntu Studio via grub for printing, for now, but I wonder
if anyone else is having the same problem. I had better check on the Kubuntu
forum.

I have installed my preferred card set in kpatience, so the important program is
working properly. Haven't set up wireless yet, though. How hard could it be?
