Nokia is too big to live on that model
Authored by: Anonymous on Friday, October 19 2012 @ 12:28 PM EDT
Nokia is huge corporation, and has been a big source of
national pride in Finland. I can't believe that they really
don't care if their historically core business dies while
they go on a lawsuit binge. That certainly wouldn't fit with
most of what they are telling investors.

It would make sense to think that MS/Nokia plan to
aggressively attack via patent litigation as a means to harm
Android and create an opening for Nokia smartphones in the
marketplace. But to forget about actual sales and become
nothing more than a lawsuit company - that seems a stretch,
IMHO.

Of course, that may well be what actually happens given how
Nokia's smartphone business is cratering. I just don't
think that this is how Nokia and MS intended for things to
go. I think they want to harm Android *and* have robust
smartphone sales.
