I don't think he understands that Nokia is the new
SCO. They did the patent deal with Microsoft, and
then they both licensed to troll MOSAID, and
they will sue and then it will be Beelliooooons
for Nokia. They get a third of whatever MOSAID
gets in damages. So that is the plan. The real
plan. They couldn't care less about smartphones,
except that they can pretend to be in the market
so they can blame losses on "infringers" and
get damages. That, they expect, will poof up the
bottom line.
I mean, SCO sold UnixWare until the day it died,
even though it kept losing market share steadily.

Yes, they were beta testers, but not for WP8 only for the app store model. The
WP8 phones are completely different from WP7 both in hardware and software,
almost nothing carries across. So initial WP8 users start off as beta testers
again.
