The next attack is secure boot

$600 tablets that did not sell become used to become $200 linux boxes. If Microsoft have got secure boot right then Windows RT tablets will not be worth $200 after χmas.

Any guesses on what they will try after that?

This battle is not just about the right to share code.

This is a continuation of a war that has been in progress since our ancestors
first became able to choose between right and wrong, an attack on freedom
itself.

Since there is, by definition, no mechanical way to protect freedom, there will
always be another angle to attacking the GPL. And there will be people with ego
problems and control complexes who will insist on trying the new angle. Until
the social sea of the semantics of the legal language change around it, and
render the GPL moot or null, the battles will continue.
