The problem is judges are skilled in the art of the law.

There is no guarantee they are skilled in the art of anything else and, assuming
that the average lawyer is of average intelligence, it is a reasonable
assumption that they don't have intellectual capacity to be skilled in anything
else.

One just hopes that those lawyers who rise to Judgeship are of above average
intellectual ability though, given the pay on offer, one really should assume
the opposite :-(
