This is PolR's baby,
Authored by: stegu on Sunday, October 14 2012 @ 01:51 PM EDT
PJ, I am sorry if I came across as whining.
That is most definitely not what I meant to do.

This is PolR's creation, and it is better than
anything I could cobble together on the subject.
I think the suggestions from the anonymous OP are
best incorporated into the text by its original
author, with his own care and discretion.
The suggestions were mostly about changing details,
clarifying some bits and moving a few things
around, not doing an extensive rewrite.
The suggestions were specific and very constructive.
That's why I thought it would be a good idea for
PolR to do it.

I would not have anything constructive to add
to this particular piece, but I do recognize good
advice (the top-level post) when I see it. If you
really need someone to act as an editor to do
this, you want a native speaker and a professionally
trained writer. I am neither.

I agree with you in general, though. People are far
too quick to ask others to fight their fights for
them, but believe me, I make a significant effort
to carry some part of the burden in this important
struggle.
